Prenatal or Fertility Vitamins
Prenatal (fertility) vitamins contain the right amount of vitamins and minerals that will help the body to prepare for pregnancy and helps the body during pregnancy. Folic acid is one of the main ingredients in prenatal vitamins and so very important in a healthy
pregnancy
. Folic acid helps to prevent certain neural tube defects in the fetus. It's recommended to start taking prenatal vitamins during the time before the
baby
is conceived (preconception) as well as throughout pregnancy and while breastfeeding.
Vitamin B6 and Fertility
Vitamin B6 helps to regulate the reproductive hormones. It helps to lengthen and regulate the luteal phase (which is the time from ovulation to the first day of menstruation). B6 helps to maintain balanced blood sugars. It's an excellent supplement to take to alleviate
morning sickness
during pregnancy. I take at least 50 mg of B6 per day all cycle.

Vitamin E helps to build a strong immune system. It helps to maintain a healthy pregnancy.
Progesterone Cream
Natural
progesterone cream
is excellent in balancing the reproductive hormones. It helps to maintain a healthy pregnancy by building up a strong uterine lining. It's good at helping to prevent early miscarriage - if the miscarriage would be caused by low progesterone. Also helps to prevent preterm labor in pregnancy. (This has been proven by yours truly!)
Fertility Herbs
Evening primrose oil and vitex (chastetree berry) help to regulate the reproductive hormones in some women. These should be taken with caution. Always follow the dosage instructions. Don't take these herbs once ovulation has been established.
Tea
I often say they should change the name of "tea" to "fertiliTEA" because every time I've conceived I was drinking plain tea. Green tea and regular tea (decafe or caffeinated) contains a high level of antioxidants. |
